How The Secret works

The Secret is a movement that believes that your thoughts create your reality. Followers believe that if you want something, you can obtain it by passionately believing in it. According to them, this is the law of attraction. The universe will conspire to make your wish come true.

The creation of The Secret

In 2006, Rhonda Byrne launched her bestseller 'The Secret,' of which more than 30 million were sold worldwide. It was the start of the movement, which now has millions of followers.

According to the book and the film with the same name, famous persons such as Plato, Leonardo Da Vinci, Einstein, and even President Lincoln already understood the law of attraction. They just never wanted to share this knowledge with the general public. Byrne would be the first to do so, and now everyone can get what they want.

How does The Secret work?

According to The Secret, to get what you want, all you have to do is passionately believe that something belongs to you. It can be wealth, status, fame, or something very small. Unfortunately, it takes a certain amount of time before the universe gives you what you want. Otherwise, it would be too overwhelming.

If you think one moment you want an Elephant and the next moment you want an expensive Ferrari, your living room would be full at once. The law of delay protects you from this. No one can tell you how long it will take for your wishes to come true, but that they will come true is a fact. To do this, you have to take the following three steps:

1. Think of something positive you want and let go of all the negative
2. Ask this positive to the universe
3. Keep this up until you get what you want

How can somebody just get what they want?

According to The Secret, anyone can get what they want if the person can let go of all negative thoughts. The Law of Attraction says that the more you don't want something, the sooner you get it. That also applies to things you do want.

So every day being afraid of new bills creates more new bills. Every day thinking about wealth and believing that it belongs to you creates more wealth.

Not many people can let go of these negative thoughts, and even if someone can just get what they want, this is not for everyone.

Can The Secret be proved?

Quantum physics has indications that it is indeed the case that our thoughts shape reality. To date, however, there is no proof that you can realize wealth, fame, or anything else with your thoughts.

Yet followers swear that The Secret has brought them what they wanted. However, little is said about the wishes that did not come true, and when one speaks about them, the explanation is that they did not want something enough.
